Protecting Pups is a community organization that uses donations from the East Texas community to buy protective and training equipment for local law enforcement K9s.
Equipment includes ballistic vest, heat alert/deployment system, cooling vest, cooling mats, spill proof bowls and training rewards.
Protecting Pups donated several pieces of equipment which will help K9’s Amor, Polux and Zorro stay safe during their shifts on patrol.
The donations included a cooling vest for each dog which will be utilized in long distance tracks of suspects, spill proof water bowls to be placed in each patrol unit, cooling mats for each dog along with a bite sleeve and training rewards for each dog.
Officer Maguire and K9 Amor also received a heat alert/deployment system for their patrol unit due to the current one needing to be replaced.
All items received from the Protecting Pups organization will help in further training of K9’sAmor, Polux and Zorro, as well as keeping them safe during their shifts.

This organization helps several K9 units in the East Texas area including Tyler and Longview’s K9 Units.
Chief Jesus “Eddie” Campa stated “We are very thankful for organizations like “Protecting Pups” who step in and help fill the needs of the K9 units not just here in Marshall but the entire East Texas area.
K9’s Amor, Polux and Zorro are not only police dogs they are part of the Marshall Police department family. I would like to thank everyone involved with Protecting Pups along with anyone who has donated to their cause, I along with the entire staff here at the Marshall Police Department say Thank you”.
